Children's Ministry
From the moment of birth, your child is an important part of the First Presbyterian family. Our children's ministry is vibrant and energetic, and offers multiple opportunities for families with children from birth through fifth grade, to grow in the faith together, and individually.

Sundays for Children at First Presbyterian
Families with children are welcome at each of our services and are always invited to remain for its entirety. At the mid point of the service, children are invited to engage in Godly Play where our staff will lead our children in faith formation activities and fun for the remainder of the hour.

Children's Sunday Schedule
Times may vary for special services, such as Christmas Eve and Easter, and other seasons of the year.
Children in Pre-K through third grade are welcome to attend our Godly Play program, a time to share Bible stories, grow friendships, play, and create.
Children sit with their parents for the beginning of the service and are then dismissed to Godly Play with our staff.
Pick up children from their Sunday School classrooms at the end of the service.
Children in Pre-K through 3rd Grade who would like to attend Godly Play, a Montessori-style approach to Biblical education will depart from the service with staff and volunteers to a space on the third-floor children's hall. Children should be picked up immediately following worship.

Be a Sunday School teacher

Do you have a heart for children and a passion for sharing God’s love? We are seeking caring, enthusiastic volunteers to join our Sunday School team. Whether you are an experienced teacher or simply love children and want to grow in faith, there is a place for you.
Volunteers are needed to teach or assist with preschool and elementary classes. All lessons and materials are provided. This is a wonderful opportunity to lead Bible stories, crafts, music, and games while being a consistent, loving presence in a child’s faith journey.
The safety and well-being of every child in our care are priorities at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. All volunteers who work with children are subject to background checks and are required to complete Darkness to Light child abuse prevention training before serving.
